Get to know Natasha Wyatt
I am a fully trained psychotherapist with a specialism in art therapy. I am registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and adhere to the HCPC Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.
I am here to help you navigate difficult times and explore the challenges facing you in life, whatever they are, in a safe and comfortable space. I have extensive experience of supporting people with issues including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), suicidal ideation, self-harm, bereavement, relationship difficulties, social anxiety, identity and self-esteem.
I offer a person centered and client- led approach in a safe and non-judgemental space. This means that you are in control of the direction of your therapy and empowered, while supported, to explore solutions that feel right for you.
Many people find the process of making art allows them to explore their inner world, develop greater self-awareness, express thoughts and feelings, and better cope with stress. No art experience or skill is required and art is only part of the broader support I offer. I offer both face to face and online sessions.

Approaches
My approach to art therapy is flexible and tailored to everyone. I believe that each person is unique and that no single approach to therapy can address the physical, social, emotional and psychological needs of all people. I therefore use various techniques and approaches to tailor the therapy to your specific needs and work collaboratively with you to find the best way forward. All sessions are confidential, following HCPCs ethical framework.
The content of the therapy sessions are kept private and confidential unless a person discloses that they, or someone else, are at risk of significant harm. The therapeutic work can be short term or long term, dependent on the specific needs of the individual. I am committed to being alongside you in whatever you are struggling with and create a safe and non-judgmental space that allows for unconditional positive regard and empathy.
The psychodynamic approach in therapy explores the individuals past, and the defence mechanisms formed in our childhoods to protect ourselves. It explores the unconscious mind and its influence on a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand how your current feelings and behaviour are shaped by your past experiences and your unconscious mind and impulses.
Person centred therapy is a process whereby an individual takes control of their self and their therapeutic sessions.
This therapy allows the client to explore their true self and empowers them to be able to solve their own problems. It gives the client a chance to have self direction by allowing them to plan their own session and be in control of the therapy.
